The City of Richmond has set a goal to divert 70% of waste from the landfill. Working with Herrainco Brand Strategy + Design and Mickelson Consulting Inc., we have helped Richmond divert recyclables and food scraps from going into landfills through the “Lets Trim Our Waste” campaign. The goal of this campaign is to depict recycling as more friendly and enjoyable by encouraging residents through a teamwork attitude. This was conveyed through the colour palette chosen, patterns, art direction in the photography and the copy. There were multiple marketing materials created for this campaign.
Some of the many applications included banners, newspaper ads, bus shelter ads, public spaces signage, the recycling calendar and T-shirts.
